Collin Veijer at the Front of Moto2? – “Very Close to the Times you Need”
2025 Moto2 rookie Collin Veijer impressed during his first Moto2 test in Jerez. The Dutchman came "very close to the times you need to be at the front".
Dennis Foggia will return to Moto3 in 2025. The start of his comeback in the smallest Grand Prix racing class did not go as expected.
After two challenging years in Moto2 with the Italtrans Racing team, Dennis Foggia will be returning to Moto3 in 2025. The decisive factor: No matter what he tried in his two-year tenure in the intermediate class, the Italian never really got to grips with the machinery. The 23-year-old finished 19th in the standings in 2023 and only managed 24th in 2024.
Having to make way in the Italtrans team for Spanish Supersport World Champion Adrian Huertas, Foggia found a new home in Jorge Martinez’ Aspar Moto3 team. The Italian is a Moto3 veteran after completing 92 Moto3 races, winning 10 and standing on 13 further podiums.
His most successful spell in the lightweight class came with Leopard Racing on a Honda in 2021 and 2022 when he finished second and third in the Moto3 World Championship.
Joining the Aspar Team for the first time at a private test in Jerez, the former Moto3 vice champion was eager to explain that the switch back to the smaller class would not be as easy as most people think. “It was important for us to rebuild the basic feeling and confidence. Riding is very different and I want to internalise it.”
“In addition, I don’t know the Moto3 KTM. The bike is very different to the Honda, and that was a good two years ago. But what I can say is that I really liked the new bike. The behaviour on the brakes is great, and we were already doing really well there. It’s only in the fast corners that I still need to make significant improvements.”
The fact that the changeover did not go perfectly – after two intensive days in Jerez, Foggia was only at the end of the short list with a gap of 1.3 seconds did not upset the Moto3 returnee.

“The changeover from Moto3 to Moto2 was not easy and it is not easy back. But after the test I can say that the feeling is back. If we have another test, then we will also be competitive in terms of lap times.”

“I have always felt very comfortable in Moto3 and I have already achieved many successes. Now I’m very grateful to have the chance to work on myself even more, it’s about becoming the perfect Moto3 rider.”
