The 2025 MotoGP season is inching closer! Teams and riders will hit the track for the first time in 2025 at the Sepang shakedown test starting January 31st. You can find all preseason testing dates here. First and foremost, the first three days of testing belong to the official test riders.
MotoGP rookies are eligible as well. While only Tech3 athlete Pedro Acosta was able to take advantage of this privilege in February 2024, three riders will now take to the track: Fermin Aldeguer, Ai Ogura and Somkiat Chantra.
For years, the shakedown test was solely reserved for test riders and rookies. However, since MotoGP’s latest concession update, several big Honda and Yamaha names will share the Malaysian track as well. Here’s the full shakedown test line-up:
