Official: Trackhouse Racing Sign Ai Ogura on a Two-Year Deal
It’s official! Trackhouse Racing completes its 2025 & 2026 MotoGP line-up and signs Japanese Moto2 rider Ai Ogura on a two-year deal.
In a significant move ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, Trackhouse Racing has confirmed the signing of Ai Ogura to their MotoGP team starting in 2025.
The Japanese, currently fighting for the championship title in Moto2, will join Raul Fernandez as his teammate on a two-year contract that secures his position with the Aprilia satellite team until the end of 2026.
His consistent and impressive performances have positioned him as the runner-up in the standings, trailing only his MT-Helmets teammate, Sergio Garcia.
Reflecting on his step up to the premier class, Ogura expressed his gratitude and excitement, saying, “First, I would like to say thanks to all the people who are part of this project and everybody who supported me. Of course, this is the dream!”
“MotoGP is the maximum level you can have, so I’m obviously really happy to make it there. I’m very happy to be able to race in the top class.”
The Japanese rider is eager to contribute to the success of the Trackhouse team, which has shown some impressive performances but is still in its acclimatisation phase in the premier class.
“I can see that the team is really competitive and the bike is very strong and as a rider my job is doing what I can with everything I have.”
“It’s always the same mentality but I’m very happy to be part of Trackhouse and make this step up to MotoGP with them – I’m just looking forward to start 2025,” he added.
Before making the jump to MotoGP though, Ogura wants to remain focused on finishing the 2024 Moto2 season on a high note.
“Right now, my priority is the Moto2 World Championship. I aim to conclude this year on a strong note and enter 2025 well-prepared,” Ogura stated.
