Michael Laverty’s MLav Racing Moto3 team has finalized its 2025 lineup, signing Marcos Uriarte to partner Eddie O’Shea on their Honda machinery. Following the recent news of Guido Pini joining Intact GP, this announcement completes the Moto3 grid for the upcoming 2025 season.
Uriarte is not a newcomer to the GP paddock. After emerging from the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2021, the Spaniard faced a tough rookie debut in Moto3 that was ended by an injury during his maiden race start at the 2022 Catalan GP.
It wasn’t until 2024 that Uriarte managed to reboot his career. Competing in JuniorGP with Jorge Martinez’ Aspar structure, the Spaniard started his comeback in style with a podium finish at the Misano season opener. After four more podiums followed, Uriarte finished the season fifth in the overall standings.
For the 2025 Moto3 season, Uriarte steps in to replace Scott Ogden, whose underwhelming results over three years led to his departure from MLav Racing. The Brit retains his spot on the Moto3 grid, joining CIP Racing alongside Swiss rider Noah Dettwiler.
Uriarte’s move to MLav Racing reunites him with Eddie O’Shea. The Brit, who signed his Moto3 contract mid-2024, made his Grand Prix debut after his 18th birthday at the Indonesian GP.
