Fabio Di Giannantonio Reveals Decision on 2025 MotoGP Future
After rumors he could be signing with Pramac Yamaha for 2025, Fabio Di Giannantonio reveals a decision on his MotoGP future has been taken.
Following a prematurely ended and crash-ridden race weekend at the German Grand Prix, Fabio Di Giannantonio reveals a decision on his MotoGP future has been taken.
The Italian was heavily linked with the newly-formed Pramac Yamaha team for 2025 after Yamaha star Fabio Quartararo heavily advertised a switch to the Japaneses’ satellite team.
However, with Marco Bezzecchi and the whole Pramac team leaving Ducati in 2025, Fabio Di Giannantonio seems set to remain with the VR46 Racing team and ride Ducati’s only GP25 outside of the factory team.
“The decision has been taken and soon we will receive the news,” the Italian confirmed at the Sachsenring.
Di Giannantonio, following a major comeback in the latter half of 2023 to secure a seat on the grid last minute, started the year off well and quickly replaced the struggling Marco Bezzecchi as VR46’s leader in the standings.
“We are fighting for important positions and the target for the second part of the season will be to reduce this gap to the GP24 bikes.”
The Italian feels like he is on the cusp of extracting the GP23’s full potential: “Coming from last year where I was doing podiums and wins, for sure, I wanted to continue with podiums and wins, but with the bike this year we are doing very close to the maximum.”
