Deal Confirmed: Collin Veijer to Move Up to Moto2 for 2025
It was foreseeable and yet it is a bit of a surprise: Collin Veijer will move up to Moto2 in 2025. The Dutchman joins with Red Bull KTM Ajo.
Collin Veijer, standing nearly 1.80 meters tall, has long pushed the ergonomic limits of a Moto3 rider. Following his tenure in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, the JuniorGP World Championship, and two seasons with the Intact GP team in Moto3, the (for Moto3 standards) tall Dutchman will move up to Moto2 for 2025.
In the presence of KTM management, including Motorsport Director Pit Beirer and Head of Road Racing Jens Hainbach, Veijer signed a contract with Red Bull KTM Ajo to race in Moto2 from 2025.

Joining him for the rider will be current Moto2 rookie Deniz Öncü indicating that Celestino Vietti will depart KTM Ajo after just one season.
Reflecting on his new contract, Collin Veijer expressed excitement: “I am overjoyed to have signed with Aki [Ajo] and the Red Bull KTM Ajo Team in Moto2. KTM has a presence in all GP classes, and this is a fantastic step for my career.”
“It’s such a renowned team, and their past results speak for themselves. It certainly won’t be easy transitioning from Moto3, but I will prepare myself well. 2025 is the right time to make this move, and the Moto2 bike will be a better fit for me physically.”
“At the same time, I am aware that we are only halfway through the season, and I will continue to stay fully focused to achieve the best possible results in Moto3.”
Aki Ajo, the team principal of Red Bull KTM Ajo, was equally enthusiastic about the agreement with the Moto3 race winner.
“I am very happy to have Collin on board. He has shown great progress and professionalism and has already made his first steps in the program by participating in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.”
“Throughout his two seasons in Moto3, he has proven to be a rider with a promising future on the world stage. It is a pleasure for me to continue the work of the KTM Academy with him.”
