Pramac Racing is undergoing a massive transformation as it switches from Ducati to Yamaha for the 2025 MotoGP season. Central to this transition could be a new sponsorship deal with Renault’s sports car division Alpine.
The French brand also featuring in Formula 1 is set to sponsor Prima Pramac Racing starting in 2025 according to reports from the Motorsport Network.
The team’s current title sponsor Prima would remain its title sponsor until at least 2027. Pramac Racing and the Italian insurance company extended their running contract for another three years.
The possible deal with Alpine does not come as a surprise as it would extend beyond financial backing. Pramac CEO Paolo Campinoti and Renault CEO Luca de Meo share a long-standing friendship.
It wouldn’t be Campinoti’s first facilitated MotoGP-F1 crossover: Pramac previously displayed the Formula 1 logo on its Ducati bikes in 2021. De Meo is no stranger to MotoGP either.
During his stint at Fiat, the Italian played a crucial role in securing the Italian automaker’s deal with the Yamaha factory team. This partnership prominently featured Fiat’s branding on the bikes of MotoGP legends Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo.
Pramac started its transition to Yamaha at MotoGP’s official post-season test in Barcelona, where Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller got their first taste of their new Yamaha M1 machines.
The official unveiling of Pramac’s Yamaha livery is expected at the Sepang pre-season test from February 5-7, 2025. Dorna Sports has scheduled its official 2025 photo session just before the last preseason test.
