2025 MotoGP Injury Report - Who's In, Who's Out

The MotoGP season hasn’t even really started yet and we’re already looking at quite the long list of injured riders. Here’s who’s in and who’s out for the upcoming Grand Prix:

MotoGP

Jorge Martin – In a crash on his return at the Qatar Grand Prix, Jorge Martin suffered eleven rib fractures and a pneumothorax.

The reigning World Champion will be out for a yet to be defined time. A quick return to racing is off the cards.

Ai Ogura – The Japanese rookie has had successful surgery on a right tibia fracture he sustained in his crash at the British Grand Prix.

Trackhouse Racing has high hopes of Ogura returning for the Aragon Grand Prix.

Luca Marini – Testing for the 8 Hours of Suzuka, Luca Marini suffered a “heavy crash”. The Italian was transferred to a local hospital being diagnosed with a dislocated left hip, damage to the ligament in his left knee, fractures in the sternum and left collarbone, and a right-sided pneumothorax.

The Italian will be out for an undefined time as he awaits clearing to travel home to Italy.

Moto2

Darryn Binder – Having been caught up in a crash with Zonta van den Goorbergh, Darryn Binder is out for the time being. The South African fractured his right wrist after getting caught in van den Goorbergh’s rear wheel. He will miss the British Grand Prix and will not be replaced.

Alex Escrig – The Spaniard suffered a lung contusion in a Practice crash in Le Mans and will miss at least the rest of the French Grand Prix weekend.

Adrian Huertas – After a crash at the Le Mans Moto2 test, Adrian Huertas is set to miss at least the British Grand Prix due to a fractured collarbone. A replacement has yet to be announced.

Collin Veijer – Collin Veijer suffered a training crash on Monday before the British Grand Prix in which he injured his right wrist. The Dutchman is set to miss at least the race weekend in Silverstone.

Mario Aji – Having originally celebrated his return to racing at the British Grand Prix, Mario Aji will be out for a yet-to-be-defined time after his healed up shoulder dislocated once again (for the fifth time this year) in the early stage of the British Grand Prix weekend.

The Honda Team Asia rider will need surgery on his shoulder which could see him sidelined until at least the summer break.

 

Moto3

Marcos Uriarte – Aspar Moto3 rider Marcos Uriarte has been declared unfit due to a wrist fracture at the Argentina Grand Prix. The Spaniard is set to miss several Grand Prix. He will be replaced by Max Cook at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone.

Matteo Bertelle – Thai and Argentine GP pole sitter  Matteo Bertelle has suffered a fractured humerus and tibia in a serious training crash. The Italian will miss several Grand Prix, he will be replaced by Vicente Perez.

Adrian Fernandez – Leopard Racing rider Adrian Fernandez will miss the British Grand Prix in order to recover from surgery on his injured leg. He will be replaced by Joel Esteban.
