
Maverick Viñales left it late to top MotoGP Practice at Mugello, clocking a 1’44.634 in the final minute to edge out home favourite Francesco Bagnaia by just 0.110s with the Italian’s teammate Marc Marquez completing the top three.
Alex Marquez led the charge for the GP24s in fourth with a hurt Fabio Quartararo rounding out the top five.
The Frenchman had crashed midway through the session sliding shoulder-first into the gravel trap outside of turn four.
The Yamaha box was fearing the worst when Quartararo was slow to get back up onto his feet pointing at his left shoulder.
Later the team confirmed he had briefly dislocated his shoulder which a marshal quickly popped back in while still lying in the gravel trap.

Following a quick assessment by MotoGP doctor Dr. Angel Charte, Quartararo was able to get back out on track and secured himself a direct spot in tomorrow’s Q2.
Silverstone race winner Marco Bezzecchi led the charge for Aprilia ahead of Alex Rins. The Spaniard makes it two Yamahas in Q2 having bee able to snatch a tow from Alex Marquez on the Gresini rider’s fastest lap of the day.
Acosta, Morbidelli and Fabio di Giannantonio rounded out the top ten with MIguel Oliveira beating his teammate Jack Miller in 11th.
The Aussie was one of four rider to go down in the final session of the day seeing Somkiat Chantra and Brad Binder joining him and Quartararo in the accident book.
