Hervé Poncharal’s Tech3 team is set for a significant lineup change in 2025, as Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales join the squad following Pedro Acosta’s 2025 promotion to the factory KTM team.

Speaking ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, Poncharal expressed his excitement about the upcoming changes. “I’m really thrilled,” he told TNT Sports.

“I’ve been pushing the Pierer Mobility Group management to make a swift decision ever since Mugello. It became clear then that Pedro Acosta was on his way to the factory KTM team, so we needed to ensure we had a competitive lineup.”

He went on to emphasize that Bastianini was the ideal choice for Tech3. “I believe Enea was by far the best option for us. When the stars align, he’s unstoppable. His recent performances have shown that he is a serious contender for the championship.”

However, the Italian’s arrival at Tech3 brings a certain level of anticipation and extra pressure th the team. “Of course, we would love to see him bring the #1 plate to our team next year,” Poncharal admitted.

“However, we are realistic. The pressure is on us to provide him with the resources, support, and technical package that he deserves and expects.”

With Bastianini coming from Ducati’s Desmosedici GP24, the Frenchman hopes for a quick adaptation phase on the RC-16. “The first impression is crucial in everything, and we hope that after a few laps in Valencia, he’ll return to the box with a big smile on his face.”

As for Pedro Acosta, despite a challenging weekend in Austria, Poncharal did not hold back in his praise for the young rider, who has made a substantial impact on the Tech3 team this season.

“Without a doubt, Pedro has contributed to the team’s progress,” Poncharal stated. “We’ve seen much more media interest than last year, which is already a significant impact and great news.”

He acknowledges that since Acosta joined the team determination to improve within the squad has skyrocketed. “Everyone in this paddock is here because of passion and adrenaline. But Pedro’s arrival at the start of the year was a game-changer for us.”

“He has shown the Pierer Mobility Group and the technical department that they are on the right track, even though there’s always room for improvement.”
