Francesco Bagnaia topped the timesheets in a damp final practice session for the 2024 Japanese MotoGP, holding off rookie Pedro Acosta at the Motegi circuit.

Despite the tricky conditions, Bagnaia’s best time was only one second off Brad Binder’s pace from a dry Friday session, highlighting the Ducati rider’s impressive form ahead of qualifying.

The session wasn’t without drama, as Johann Zarco suffered a big crash that left his LCR Honda destroyed in the gravel. Fortunately, Zarco walked away unscathed.

Meanwhile, Miguel Oliveira remains sidelined with a wrist injury sustained in Mandalika, with Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori standing in for the weekend. Remy Gardner, competing as a wild-card for Yamaha, makes his third MotoGP appearance of the season at the factory’s home round.
