Marc Marquez delivered redemption at Misano by winning the San Marino Grand Prix, narrowly resisting Marco Bezzecchi.
The pair was in a different league at Misano and finished over seven seconds clear of Alex Marquez in third.
Bezzecchi led off the start and was starting to build a lead over the course of the first half of the race, but a mistake at Turn 8 on lap 12, an error that should turn out to be the key moment of the day, allowed Marquez through.

From there, the two traded fastest laps, regularly lapping in the low 1:31s despite both carrying a track limits warning into the closing stages of the race.
Bezzecchi, riding what he later described as “the race of my life,” threw everything – one might say even the kitchen sink – at Marquez in front.
Yet, the Spaniard answered each attack, setting the outright fastest lap on lap 25 before sealing victory by 0.568s.
Alex Marquez had a lonely ride to third, while Franco Morbidelli led the VR46 charge in fourth, fending off team-mate Fabio Di Giannantonio.
Fermin Aldeguer continued his strong rookie run with sixth, ahead of Luca Marini, who salvaged seventh after losing ground at the start.
Fabio Quartararo faded to eighth, slipping behind both Aldeguer and Marini, before being chased down to the line by Miguel Oliveira in ninth. Brad Binder completed the top ten.
Further back, Raul Fernandez headed Jack Miller for eleventh, with Jorge Martin only thirteenth after having to serve a double long lap penalty due to his Aprilia getting hit by tech issues on the sighting lap.

With pitlane closing, the reigning World Champion was forced to start on his spare bike and the sighting lap from the pits, before joining the grid in his original starting place.
Augusto Fernandez finished a distant fourteenth, followed by Somkiat Chantra in fifteenth.
Pecco Bagnaia’s horror home GP weekend turned from bad to worse when he fell on lap nine.

Maverick Viñales, Ai Ogura, Enea Bastianini and Alex Rins also failed to finish after separate incidents. Joan Mir was caught in a first-lap tangle with Johann Zarco, the Frenchman re-joining the race to finish a lap down in 16th.
Pedro Acosta, after an aggressive early charge through the pack that had him move up the order as far as P4, retired on lap eight with a broken chain, an issue KTM already faced two times this weekend on Brad Binder’s RC-16.
After his crash in the sprint on Saturday, the win is a statement at Misano for Marquez, which puts him on the cusp of securing the title at the next Grand Prix at Motegi.
Bezzecchi, despite the loss, confirmed his status as a consistent front-runner, and – with Bagnaia not scoring any points this weekend – is now just eight points away from P3 in the championship standings.
