
Marc Marquez returned to the top of the timesheets in commanding style at Aragon, lighting up Practice Friday with a blistering 1:46.397.
The Spaniard topped his brother Alex ahead of Maverick Vinales and last-1:46-setter Joan Mir.
After some difficiult weeks, Pedro Acosta was back to being right in the mix, completing the top five at the end of the day.
It was a strong showing all around for Honda (at least for competetive riders), with Johann Zarco joining his constructor colleague Mir in the top 10.
Brad Binder ran second for much of the final time attack phase having secured Marc Marquez’s tow on the Spaniard’s first time attack.
Being pushed back down to 9th over the course of the final minutes, the South African showed he can do it without a slipstream too improving by another two-tenths and finishing the day in 7th.
It will be the first time since the Argentinian Grand Prix, Binder will take part in Q2.
Pecco Bagnaia and Franco Morbidelli barely made it directly into Q2 in 9th and 10th, with the latter pushing VR46 Academy colleague and Silverstone race winner Bezzecchi out of the top ten.
Following three rounds of strong showing, Practice Friday at the Aragon Grand Prix quickly developed into a reality check for Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha.

Looking at odds with the M1 from start to finish, the Frenchman had multiple big moments, including a near highside at the final corner.
Yamaha riders reported a massive lack of grip across both axles, most notably on corner exit, and, like all Aprilia riders, will all have to fight their way through Q1 tomorrow morning.
