MotoGP is back in Argentina after a one-year break and it’s Marc Marquez who leads the way early on on the premier class’s Termas comeback weekend.
After a slow start to the morning and a still slightly damp track in the beginning of Free Practice 1, the Spaniard headed out on track for the first time with 30 minutes left on the clock.
Following a few setup runs, where Marquez seems to lement about the bike twitching on the front and rear through high-speed corners, the Buriram race winner set a 1:38.937, the fastest lap of the weekend, to top the first session.
Marquez led Honda frontrunner Johann Zarco and his brother Alex Marquez into the Top 3 ahead of Franco Morbidelli.
The Italian, coming off a Practice clash with Pecco Bagnaia, encountered another difficult situation with his VR46 Academy colleague when the both of the Italian’s bikes lost rear traction through Turn 11, barely avoiding contact.

Marco Bezzecchi led the charge for Aprilia beating Luca Marini by 0.001s for P5 on the timesheet. Marini wasn’t the last Honda in the top 10 with Joan Mir finishing behind Yamaha frontrunner Jack Miller and best KTM rider Maverick Vinales in 9th.
Pedro Acosta rounded out the top 10 ahead of his KTM Factory Racing teammate Brad Binder.Â
