After two close Practice session on Friday at Buriram, Marc Marquez tops the MotoGP field setting a new all-time lap record. The Spaniard leads Jorge Martin, Enea Bastianini and Pecco Bagnaia.

Bagnaia, struggling to come to grips with the setup in the early parts of Practice, eventually was able to match the top runners’ pace. Ducati Team Manager Davide Tardozzi later confirmed setup issues that the team were able to solve, making him “confident” Bagnaia will fight for the win at Buriram.

Rookie sensation Pedro Acosta, despite still suffering a little from his Australian GP shoulder injury, had good pace from the get-go but was unable to keep up with the top runner Ducatis in the later stages of the session, just barely making it into Q2.

The Spaniard is, once again, the only KTM rider directly qualified for Q2 as his future teammate Brad Binder misses out on the Top 10 by just +0.001 seconds, being beaten by Johann Zarco for P10.

Aprilia had a tough start to the weekend with only one of their riders finishing inside the Top 10. Aleix Espargaro, following a high-speed crash in FP1, had to sit out the latter half of Practice and has been taken to hospital for further checks.
