KTM: Jack Miller Disappointment Mainly Due to Technical Reasons?
KTM Team Manager Guidotti explains Jack Miller’s problems in MotoGP and suggests the Aussie is mainly struggling due to technical reasons.
KTM Factory Racing rider Jack Miller has been one of the biggest disappointments this MotoGP season so far.
Dropping out of the Top 15 in the overall standings just before the halfway point of the 2024 campaign, the Aussie lost his current KTM seat to super-rookie Pedro Acosta and will not be part of the KTM MotoGP structure in 2025.
With the Austrian outfit struggling to get to grips with the 2024 Michelin tyres and currently running behind Acosta and teammate Binder, Miller struggles the most with the increased vibrations of the 2024 KTM package.
KTM Team Manager Francesco Guidotti suggests the 29-year-old’s rather disappointing results as of late mainly come from these technical reasons:
“We have been struggling with vibrations since the beginning of the year. They are due to the new package and Jack [Miller] is suffering badly. He can’t utilise the bike’s potential as much as he would like.”
Despite his long-lasting MotoGP experience, Miller can’t work a way around the problems of the new package. Having voiced his interest to stay in MotoGP but unable to score decent results, pressure is rising for the Aussie to find a seat for 2025.
“He will not give up. We are now focussing on the remaining races this season and will keep trying until the end of the season. After all, we are here to win,” explains Guidotti.
The Italian suggests Miller losing his job at KTM might be an even bigger incentive for the Australian to haul in better results over the upcoming weeks.
“He will want to prove we made a big mistake by not giving him another chance and that he deserves a spot in MotoGP. I really can’t imagine that he will give up. He will want to enjoy riding in MotoGP until the very end.”
