Fabio Quartararo Happy With New Agility-Bringing Yamaha Engine
Following a private MotoGP test at Valencia, Fabio Quartararo is happy with Yamaha’s new engine that brings back some of the M1’s agility.
Ever since winning the MotoGP championship in 2021, Yamaha and Fabio Quartararo have struggled to get to grips with the once-so-balanced M1.
After yet another private test with both factory riders at Valencia, however, Fabio Quartararo is hopeful to have made a step in the right direction.
“The private test during the break was positive, so we hope we can fight for better positions.”
According to the Frenchman, the team succeeded in trying to bring back some of the M1’s agility with a new engine update.
Ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen, Yamaha veteran Quartararo is happy with the latest development and hopes for it to show in results in the upcoming races.
“Even if the changes don’t always translate into better results, we are constantly developing the bike. I hope it will show even before the summer break.”
Yamaha teammate Alex Rins confirms the new engine update is an improvement to the currently “hard to ride” M1. Both riders will have one newest-spec engine at the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen.
