Fabio Di Giannantonio Signs 2026 Ducati Contract - GP25 in VR46 Team
It’s official! Fabio Di Giannatonio will be a Ducati MotoGP rider starting in 2025. The Italian will ride a GP25 in the VR46 Racing Team.
The news broke a few days ago when Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi let slip in an interview at Silverstone. Now the MotoGP deal is finalised: Fabio Di Giannantonio will continue to race for the VR46 Racing Team in 2025 and 2026, riding a factory-spec Desmosedici as part of a Ducati contract.
The parties announced their continued partnership in a press release on Wednesday morning. However, Franco Morbidelli has not yet been confirmed as a team-mate.
Things changed quickly for Di Giannantonio in the premier class. At the end of the 2023 season, the Italian was still without a MotoGP contract for 2024 before catching the eye with impressive performances on the track and secured a contract with the VR46 team from.
He has been doing a good job there ever since, leaving his team-mate behind. “Nine months ago, I was still without a seat to continue living my dream.”
“Today I sign a contract with two of the most important entities in MotoGP, I can’t believe it,” ‘Diggia’ is quoted as saying in the team’s press release.

“I am very happy to continue this journey with the VR46 team and Ducati for the next two seasons. Now we are opening a new chapter, I can’t wait.”
Di Giannantonio will have the same technical opportunities as the factory riders in 2025 and 2026. He will also ride the GP25 in 2025, followed by the GP26 a year later.
“The 2025-2026 era of the team is slowly taking shape,” said Team Director Alessio ‘Uccio’ Salucci, looking forward to the future.
“Just last week we were able to announce the collaboration with Ducati and now that Fabio Di Giannantonio has signed a direct works contract. I can’t hide my excitement!” Salucci also looked back on working with ‘Diggia’ afterwards.
“He came in at the very last second, he works so hard and is always with the strongest riders and deserves this result. This is very important for the future of our team.” This means that four of the six Ducati seats for 2025 and beyond have officially been allocated.
