Dorna Sports and FIM Extend MotoGP Partnership Until 2060
Dorna Sports and the FIM have confirmed a long-term partnership extension. The Spanish media conglomerate will be MotoGP rightsholder until 2060.
MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) have confirmed an extension of their partnership, ensuring Dorna’s control over the commercial rights for all FIM-organized world championships until 2060.
The agreement encompasses not just MotoGP but also a range of other FIM competitions, including the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK), MotoE, the JuniorGP series, and the Women’s World Championship (WorldWCR).
According to FIM President Jorge Viegas, a long-term agreement is vital for the continued success of global motorcycle racing. “This is an incredibly significant moment, one that provides long-term clarity and stability at the highest levels of motorcycle racing.”
“This is not only important for those directly involved in MotoGP, but also for the broader motorcycle racing community, which benefits from the global stature, value, and presence of these premier series,” Viegas stated.
The FIM President emphasized the importance of the partnership with Dorna Sports, which has been built on trust and cooperation over many years.
“The ongoing and increasingly close collaboration between the FIM, Dorna Sports, and other key stakeholders has been carefully nurtured over time. The trust and cooperation, solidified through this long-term agreement, lay an excellent foundation for the future development of MotoGP and all associated championships.”

“On behalf of the FIM, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the work Dorna Sports has done since 1992, and I look forward with great confidence to working together to ensure the continued growth and success of MotoGP for many more years,” Viegas added.
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, hailed the deal as a significant achievement for the future of the sport. “We are incredibly proud to announce this agreement with the FIM. It’s fantastic news for the sport and for our fans around the world that this partnership will continue.”
“We have built something truly special, and through our collaboration, we will keep pushing the sport forward,” Ezpeleta said.
The MotoGP chief went on to highlight the value of this extended partnership, particularly in today’s competitive sports and entertainment landscape.
“To be able to secure such a long-term deal adds immense value to MotoGP. In today’s sports environment, the level of consensus we enjoy in MotoGP is something we are privileged to be a part of. We want to thank the FIM for their continued support, and we look forward to making MotoGP bigger and better than ever,” he added.
This long-term extension will not only ensure the continuity of MotoGP as one of the most popular motorcycle racing series in the world, but it also provides stability for all other, smaller FIM World Championships under Dorna’s stewardship.
