In the Moto3 championship’s Japanese Grand Prix, David Alonso clinched the title for Colombia with a perfectly timed race, dropping to seventh early on before rising to the front.
The CFMoto Gaviota GasGas rider took advantage of errors from rivals, making his decisive move on lap thirteen. Once in the lead, he maintained his advantage, winning the race and the championship with ten victories this season (so far).
Collin Veijer finished second, just 0.524s behind, after a late surge, while Adrian Fernandez secured third, marking his second consecutive podium. Daniel Holgado rebounded from a ninth-place start to finish fourth.
Jose Antonio Rueda and Ryusei Yamanaka rounded out the top six, with Yamanaka being the best home rider. The race witnessed several crashes, including a fall from polesitter Ivan Ortola, who ultimately finished sixteenth after picking his bike back up.
