Celestino Vietti clinched his second win of the season at the Emilia Romagna Moto2 Grand Prix, capitalizing on late-race errors by the lead trio.
Tony Arbolino led for most of the race, but fatigue and a gear issue at turn 13 allowed Aron Canet and Vietti to challenge in the final stages. Vietti, despite a challenging race where he lacked grip, managed to slipstream Canet at the final corner and snatch victory by just 0.029s.
Pole-sitter Canet, who seemed destined for victory after passing Arbolino, was forced to settle for second once again for Fantic Racing.
An emotional Tony Arbolino completed the podium for Elf Marc VDS, having battled leg fatigue and errors in the closing laps.
Ai Ogura was the best of the title contenders, finishing fourth for MT Helmets – MSI, ahead of Boscoscuro’s Fermin Aldeguer, who managed fifth despite an early track limits warning. Joe Roberts, after dropping back early, recovered to a lonely sixth for American Racing.
Senna Agius finished seventh as the top rookie for Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP, followed closely by Marcos Ramirez in eighth. Alonso Lopez fought back from a poor 17th starting position to claim ninth, while Filip Salac rounded out the top ten for Elf Marc VDS.
