Aron Canet secured pole position for the Moto2 Indonesian Grand Prix with a well-timed lap of 1m 33.434s, marking his fourth pole of the season.
The Fantic Racing rider’s impressive performance came after he set a new lap record in practice, previously held by Tony Arbolino.
Jake Dixon, shadowing Canet throughout, qualified second with a time just 0.069s slower. Ai Ogura, who had topped the Friday times, rounded out the front row in third, relying on his earlier lap time after failing to improve in qualifying.
Manuel Gonzalez continued to show promise, finishing fourth for QJMotor Gresini, while Fermin Aldeguer took fifth.
Alonso Lopez completed the top six, edging out Tony Arbolino, who slipped to seventh. Joe Roberts, Somkiat Chantra, and Jeremy Alcoba rounded out the top ten.
Deniz Oncu was the top rookie in 11th for Red Bull KTM Ajo, while Barry Baltus claimed 12th after coming through Q1. Celestino Vietti, fresh off a win in Emilia Romagna, fell early in Q2, leaving him without a timed lap.
Sergio Garcia struggled again, qualifying 22nd, while Zonta van den Goorbergh and Izan Guevara also missed the cut for Q2, starting 20th and 19th, respectively.
