Round fourteen of the Moto3 championship, the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, ended in a last-lap showdown with David Alonso seizing his eighth win of the season.
The CFMoto Gaviota Aspar rider, starting from second, led for portions of the race but had to fend off challenges from Daniel Holgado, Angel Piqueras, and Collin Veijer.
Holgado led going into the final lap, but Alonso reclaimed the top spot at La Quercia and held off a late charge from Piqueras to win by just 0.175 seconds.
Holgado finished third but was relegated to fourth due to a track limits violation, promoting Veijer to the final podium spot.
Ivan Ortola finished fifth after a slow start, while Luca Lunetta made a strong push to claim sixth. Joel Kelso ended in seventh, and Adrian Fernandez settled for eighth after a strong early performance.
Taiyo Furusato, who started from pole, dropped to 13th after a long lap penalty, while Stefano Nepa and Ryusei Yamanaka rounded out the points.
