Fermin Aldeguer took a stunning first MotoGP win at the Indonesian Grand Prix, leading from the front while chaos unfolded behind.
The 19-year-old Gresini rider became the first rookie to win a premier-class race since Jorge Martin in 2021, finishing 6.987s clear of Pedro Acosta’s factory KTM.
From pole, Marco Bezzecchi’s poor getaway opened the door for Acosta, who led into Turn 1 before contact sent both Bezzecchi and Marc Marquez tumbling out.
Marquez initially walked away but was later diagnosed with an injury to his right collarbone and will travel to Madrid for treatment.

With the clear favorite Bezzecchi out of the race, Pedro Acosta took control of the race to lead a MotoGP-winless top four ahead of Luca Marini, Fermin Aldeguer, and Raul Fernandez.
Having shown on Saturday that, bar Marco Bezzecchi, he was a step above the rest of the field, Aldeguer quickly made his way past Luca Marini and seized the lead of the race through Turn 9 on Lap 7.
The rookie immediately began to gap the field, at one point running a second per lap faster than anyone else, and took home a dominant maiden MotoGP race win.
Behind him, Pedro Acosta won the fight for second, which at one point encompassed the majority of the midfield, fending off the likes of Marini, Alex Marquez, Brad Binder and Alex Rins.
The factory Yamaha rider looked set for a first podium finish in blue when he found a way past Acosta in the latter half of the race, but overcooked his soft tyres in the laps after.

Visibly struggling for rear grip in the final laps of the race, the Spaniard quickly faded to tenth, giving Alex Marquez the chance to take home third.
The Spaniard was keen to make it a Gresini 1-2 across the line, but like many riders before him, lost the battle with a quite resilient Pedro Acosta.
Brad Binder and Luca Marini completed the top five ahead of Raul Fernandez and Fabio Quartararo, with the VR46 duo of Morbidelli and di Giannantonio completing the top nine.
The race was plagued with crashes, only fourteen riders finishing the race. Following the Bezzecchi-Marquez incident on the first lap, Joan Mir, Pecco Bagnaia, and Jack Miller, the latter rejoining the race to finish 14th, all suffered crashes later on. Enea Bastianini was forced to retire to the pits with a mechanical issue.
