Gresini Racing will unveil its 2026 MotoGP project in Kuala Lumpur, marking a rare overseas launch as the team prepares for MotoGP’s last 1000cc season.
Gresini Racing has confirmed the date and location for its 2026 MotoGP team presentation.
The Faenza-based squad will reveal its new colours and (not-so-new) rider lineup on the evening of January 31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, just as the paddock begins to get the pre-season testing going.

The event, scheduled for 19:00 local time, comes immediately after the Sepang Shakedown test (January 29–31), although Gresini is not eligible to take part in those early sessions.
The Shakedown is reserved for manufacturers with concessions, rookie riders, and factory test teams. Gresini’s first track activity will begin with the full-field Sepang test on February 3–5.
The team heads into 2026 with genuine momentum. After a breakout 2025 campaign that saw Alex Márquez claim three grand prix victories and finish runner-up in the world championship, and Fermin Aldeguer secure a maiden win at the Indonesian Grand Prix along with the Rookie of the Year crown, expectations have risen across the garage.
Next season also marks an upgrade in the team’s technical partnership with Ducati. Alex Márquez will step up to a factory-spec Desmosedici GP26 – Gresini’s first time fielding Ducati works equipment – aligning him machinery-wise with Marc Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia at Ducati Lenovo, as well as Fabio Di Giannantonio at VR46.
Aldeguer will continue on a satellite-spec bike, riding the GP25 that carried Marc Márquez to the 2025 championship.
The timing of Gresini’s announcement comes just a day after Ducati confirmed its own 2026 launch event at Madonna di Campiglio.
But while the factory squad sticks to its traditional snowy backdrop in the Dolomites, Gresini heads to Malaysia for a warmer start to a season that could define the next step in its evolution towards even more factory alignment with Ducati.
