Marco Bezzecchi closed the 2025 MotoGP campaign with a dominant, race-winning ride, delivering Aprilia its first grand prix one-two finish since Catalunya 2023.

The Italian controlled the 27-lap finale from the moment he launched cleanly off the line, to take a lights-to-flag win in a race that started with all the drama, even before the start.

Running into the back of Aleix Espargaro on the starting grid, Franco Morbidelli dropped his Ducati onto the main straight.

The Italian initially started the race from pit lane but quickly retired back into the pits. He was diagnosed with a left-hand fracture and will miss the Tuesday test.

Two corners into the race, the day turned disastrous for Francesco Bagnaia.

Contact with Johann Zarco sent the reigning champion down on the opening lap, ending his season in the gravel while Zarco received a long-lap penalty.

Bezzecchi immediately set the tone, grabbing the holeshot and establishing a narrow but stable advantage over Alex Marquez and Raul Fernandez.

The Aprilia pair showed there was no chance of beating the RS-GP today, both Bezzecchi and Fernandez (the Spaniard after overtaking Alex Marquez for second) quickly moving miles ahead of the rest of the grid.

Behind them, the contest for the final podium spot intensified. Alex Marquez initially held station, but he began to drop away by lap fourteen. Pedro Acosta sensed the opportunity and moved through on lap nineteen, though the Spaniard soon came under heavy threat of his own.

Fabio di Giannantonio, regrouping after an earlier slide down the order, mounted the session’s strongest late charge.

He closed down both Acosta and Marquez, taking fourth on lap twenty before hunting down Pedro Acosta for the final podium position.

At the front, Bezzecchi managed the closing phase with clinical precision. Fernandez briefly cut the gap to half a second, but never found the final margin required to force a fight with the Italian.

Bezzecchi crossed the line 0.686s clear to secure his third victory of the season. Fernandez followed him home in second, with Di Giannantonio completing the podium, 3.765s off the lead, sealing one of his strongest rides of the year and only his second double podium.

Acosta settled for fourth with Fermin Aldeguer taking fifth from his teammate Alex Marquez on the final lap.

Luca Marini delivered Honda’s standout result in seventh, moving the manufacturer up a concession tier in the process. Binder, Miller and Bastianini completed the top ten.

Ai Ogura and Fabio Quartararo crashed out of the race in the second half of the race.

Jorge Martin and Maverick Viñales both retired from the race to conserve a bit of energy, both of the Spaniards having just come back from big injuries.
