Marco Bezzecchi delivered a fierce comeback ride to win the Indonesian MotoGP Sprint at Mandalika, defeating Fermin Aldeguer in a last-lap battle.
The Aprilia Racing rider, starting from pole, dropped to eighth at the start and had to fight his way back through the field to secure his second sprint win of the season.
The Italian bogged down off the line and saw sprint leader Fermin Aldeguer’s lead grow to more than 2.5 seconds as he fought his way back through the field.
By Lap 6, Bezzecchi began his charge, slicing past Marini and Alex Marquez before setting a string of fastest laps in the 1:29.6 range.

As Aldeguer’s lead shrank from over two seconds to under one by Lap 10, the Aprilia rider closed in rapidly.
The decisive move came on the final lap: Aldeguer attempted to retake the lead into Turn 10, but Bezzecchi slammed the door shut and held his line to take his second Sprint victory of the season.
Trackhouse Aprilia rider Raul Fernandez, carrying the Gulf special livery, completed the podium in third, four seconds adrift, while Alex Marquez ensured a double Gresini top four.

The Ducati rider completed it immediately and rejoined in 13th, eventually recovering to seventh, just behind the two Hondas of Joan Mir and Luca Marini, with both VR46 riders – Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio – close behind in eighth and ninth.
Further back, Miguel Oliveira rounded out the top ten for Pramac Yamaha.
Francesco Bagnaia endured another tough afternoon, finishing a distant 14th, 30 seconds off the lead and a full 13 seconds behind Alex Rins, who was off the track in the early stages of the sprint.
