Marc Marquez secures pole position at Hungarian Grand Prix with a 1:36.518, his eighth and final lap in qualifying proving untouchable.
The Ducati Lenovo rider was the only member of the championship’s top three to make it onto the first four rows on the grid and ended the hunt for pole almost three-tenths clear of Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi at the top of the timesheet.
Fabio di Giannantonio, having denied Brad Binder a spot in Q2 on countback, completes the front row coming out of Q1.
Enea Bastianini led the charge for KTM after Pedro Acosta, having been expected to fight for pole, only managed to salvage seventh following an early crash in which he totalled one of his RC16s.
Far from ideal for @37_pedroacosta ❌

The two KTM riders were separated by Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo in fifth and sixth.
Fermin Aldeguer and the factory Honda duo of Luca Marini and Joan Mir completed the first three rows.
Second in the championship, Alex Marquez struggled to put together a valid lap time and fell short of a good qualifying position in the final minutes.
He will start 11th in the sprint and 14th in Sunday’s main race due to a three-place grid penalty received on Friday
Following a late crash, Pol Espargaro was left 12th and last in Q2.
Two-time World Champion Pecco Bagnaia, having expected to struggle in Hungary, failed to make it out of Q1 and will start 15th – his lowest starting position of the season.
