“Feeling Great”: Jorge Martin Opens Up on Fitness and Austrian GP Hopes

After the summer break, Jorge Martin arrives in Austria feeling great and ready to push for a strong result in only his third race with Aprilia.

Jorge Martin heads into the Austrian Grand Prix refreshed from the three-week summer break, feeling fitter and sharper but conscious that there’s still plenty of work to do with Aprilia.

This weekend marks only his third race with the team, and while he admits his injured hand still isn’t fully healed, he says the time off has left him better prepared than he was in Brno.

“My hand is still not 100%, so as usual, I think it will be like this all year. But in terms of physical condition, I feel great.”

“I feel more prepared than in Brno, and I did take advantage of the summer break to train a lot, to be a bit better here,” Martin explained.

The 26-year-old is still finding his feet inside the Aprilia garage, with just two rounds of experience behind him, but he’s encouraged by the steps made so far.

“I saw some nice progress for me, and we will try to do a great job. Everything is clear. I know we will continue together with Aprilia, and we are focused on the same goal for the future.”

“Now it’s time to put our head down, keep working, keep improving, keep learning from each other, and try to be the most competitive we can,” he added.

As for Austria, Martin is keeping his expectations measured. The focus, he says, is on refining the bike and making steady progress through the weekend.

“The important thing is to keep improving, to keep working on our base setup because we still don’t have it, make our laps, and just give our 100%.”

“Let’s see what it can bring us – a good weekend, hopefully.”
