For the fourth time in 2025, Ducati factory rider Marc Marquez stumps the rest of the field and takes pole position at the Qatar Grand Prix.
Being not as dominant as in Practice, the Spaniard shattered the all-time lap record set by Jorge Martin in last year’s qualifying on his final flying lap, leading a Marquez 1-2.
However, depsite yet another pole position for #93, the performance of the session goes to Fabio Quartararo, who, after a 53-GP drought is back on the front row of the grid.
Briefly taking P1 before both Marquez brother beat him down the line, the Frenchman is “happy because I almost forgot how it feels to be on the front row”.
Fully contrasting emotions will be felt in the Bagnaia box after the two-time World Champion experienced a disaster of a session.
Managing a miserable P9 on his first run, all looked to fall in line for the Italian when he absolutly smashed the sector 1 time on the first flying lap of his second stint.
Disaster hit his side of the Ducati box, however, when his front gave out on the run towards Turn 5 and all hope of a decent starting position in this weekend’s races ended in the gravel trap.
