Jorge Navarro Sets Sepang Record for Malaysian Moto2 Pole

In a surprising Moto2 qualifying at Sepang, Jorge Navarro claimed pole with a record 2m 04.412s lap, edging his American Racing teammate Marcos Ramirez by just 0.063s.

Navarro, filling in for Joe Roberts, returned from the pits to post red sectors on his Kalex, marking his first pole since 2019. Celestino Vietti joined them on the front row after a last-minute charge to third.

Albert Arenas led row two, with rookie Deniz Oncu and Tony Arbolino completing the top six. Ai Ogura, the newly crowned champion, starts seventh, held back by yellow flags.

Manuel Gonzalez, Diogo Moreira, and Filip Salac rounded out the top ten. Jake Dixon’s crash at Turn 8 brought out the final yellow, positioning him 12th behind teammate Izan Guevara.

Somkiat Chantra, Filip Salac, Senna Agius, and Barry Baltus advanced from Q1, with Sergio Garcia and Alonso Lopez narrowly missing out due to late yellow flags.
