Ivan Ortola continued his record-breaking streak, securing his second consecutive pole position at the Moto3 Japanese Grand Prix with a stunning lap time of 1m 54.761s.

The MT Helmets – MSI rider improved upon his own record from Friday, despite challenging weather conditions that saw rain starting to fall during qualifying.

After initially finding himself in 13th due to traffic, Ortola made strategic adjustments and returned to the track, where he executed a flawless lap to reclaim the top spot, finishing 1.6 seconds faster than the previous record.

Collin Veijer followed closely, securing second place for Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP, just 0.356s behind Ortola.

David Alonso, the championship leader, rounded out the front row in third after overcoming helmet visor issues and opting for a solo lap to improve his time. The fourth position went to Angel Piqueras, who excelled as the top rookie and had a solid performance throughout the session.

Ryusei Yamanaka, the best home rider, finished fifth after deciding to stay out longer during the session, setting him up well for his home grand prix.
