What Marc Marquez Thinks Of Disappointing 2024-Spec Honda

After a first test ride with the 2024-spec Honda RC213V, Marc Marquez speaks of his disappointing experience. The problems remain the same.

Even before the IRTA MotoGP test in Misano Marc Marquez makes clear Froderungen to Honda.

While rumors arose in the run-up to the San Marino Grand Prix rumors that Marc Marquez might have already joined Gresini Racing for 2024, the focus at Monday’s test is on the multiple world champion’s opinion of the new Honda variant.

Although Honda test rider Stefan Bradl was quite optimistic, especially after qualifying on Saturday, Marc Marquez’s feedback after the test is sobering.

“The riding style is quite different but, in the end, the problems are the same, so we need to keep working. Of course, you always expect more. If this is the base, if this the bike, then we are far. We need to work and change many things.”

The Spaniard is experiencing first-hand that something is also happening in the team structure, even if the way it’s being done surprises him somewhat.

“An engineer has come, I believe he’s from aerodynamics, who used to work more in Formula 1, and we have also tested new aerodynamics. When I stop in the pit, I talk to a different face. They haven’t introduced me to him yet, but I think he’s the new Project Leader. Although they haven’t made it clear to me.”

A Clear Deadline

“They’ve started with this new bike then they will start working. They’ve not been working on this new project for a long time. Let’s see if they can make a step.”

A step that will certainly decide Marquez’s future. The Spaniard set a clear deadline for a decision.

“There is a deadline. About India, Japan I will decide. But there is not much time.”

“There’s plan A, plan B, and plan C, which I previously mentioned as two, there are three. I have the three plans, the three ideas very clear, I am clear about what needs to happen for each of them.”
