Recovered Pol Espargaro Wants To Repeat Last Year's Silverstone Pole Position Performance

Coming back from injuries sustained at the German GP after a five-week break in MotoGP, Pol Espargaro is fully fit, confident and ambitious for the British GP at Silverstone – a track he remembers well.

The Repsol Honda rider stressed in a statement that he faces this first race after the break expecting a result in line with last year’s podium finish at the 2021 British Grand Prix.

The Spaniard states: “I have had a good break, being able to recover from the rib injuries in Germany and get back to training. Last year we had a great weekend in Silverstone and I will be working hard to try and recapture that result, but there’s work to do.”

After having done well at Silverstone in 2021, Espargaro said he hopes this will be an opportunity to do better than in the last races:

“It’s a track which suited us last year so hopefully we can start this second part of the year better than the races before the break. It was a great break but now I am ready to get back to racing with the Repsol Honda Team.”
