Possible Agreement With Italtrans - Dennis Foggia In Moto2 for 2023 Season?

After five seasons in Moto3, Dennis Foggia is set to leave the smallest class. The Roman rider of the Leopard Racing Team is supposedly signing with Italtrans Racing for the 2023 season.

At 21 years old, Foggia is already considered one of the veterans of Moto3. In the 2021 season he finished 2nd, getting beaten only by Pedro Acosta.

In 2023 the two rivals from 2021 will have more chances to battle it out on track. According to Speedweek.com,  Foggia is close to signing with Italtrans Racing.

The Italian team helped Enea Bastianini win the title in the intermediate class in 2020. With Joe Roberts and Lorenzo Dallaporta, Italtrans does not meet expectations.

The same applies to Foggia, who, after missing out on the Moto3 title by just one race worth of points, was the biggest title favourite for the 2022 season.

However, this year the Italian does not seem to be able to repeat the results of last season and is third in the standings, 67 points behind leader Sergio Garcia and 64 points behind Izan Guevara.

At the last race in Assen, Foggia wasn’t able to secure valuable points after riding a curb resulted in a crash for the Leopard Racin rider. It was the Italian’s third DNF this season.

To get back on track for the World Championship would require a flawless second part of the championship and a big bit of luck.
