OFFICIAL: Raul Fernandez will Leave the KTM structure for the 2023 season
That the relationship between Fernandez and KTM is crumbling has been an open secret. Now, Pit Beirer announces the Spaniard will leave the KTM structure.
The Spaniard, currently in his rookie season in the MotoGP, has repeatedly hinted that he is looking for an alternative for 2023.
Even a stint in World Superbike or Moto2 was an option for Fernandez in order to leave KTM for another constructor. For now, only his departure from KTM is official.

At the Austrian Grand Prix KTM Sporting Director Pit Beirer stated: “He already informed us in Jerez [in May] that he was leaving us. Since then, it has only been a matter of formalities regarding the clauses.”
Beirer continues: “There is no hope that he will stay. He has been free to talk to other teams since the Grand Prix at Jerez.”
Fernandez will leave the KTM structure after five years of riding the Austrian manufacturer’s bikes. Although wanting to leave the currently struggling team for quite some time, Fernandez appreciates the time with the Austrian manufacturer:
“All I can say is that KTM will always be in my heart. I have spent many years here since the Rookies Cup and I can consider myself lucky to have ridden for them for so long.”

Asked if he already knew who he would be driving for next season or who the candidates were, the Spaniard was unapologetic: “I haven’t spoken to my management again yet. But I know that they are working on it.”
RNF Aprilia is the favourite to sign Fernandez. The team is currently looking for riders who meet the specifications of the constructor Aprilia.
After the departure of former champion Andrea Dovizioso and a probable non-renewal with Darryn Binder, Raul Fernandez would be an ideal option for the team of Razlan Razali.
