Marco Bezzecchi wants to go the extra mile for the fans on Sunday - VR46 podium at home GP?
Marco Bezzecchi has been in an astonishing form in his rookie season. Now, at his home Grand Prix in Misano, the Italian wants to go the extra mile.
Bezzecchi is having an outstanding rookie season in the “premier class”. He has already collected 68 points and is only one place behind his teammate Luca Marini.
For their home GP the Tavullian rider pairing has set itself big goals. Marini is one of the extended favourites for the San Marino GP. Last year Valentino Rossi’s half-brother made it into the top 10 for the first time in his MotoGP career.
“The home GP always has a special flavour, especially this year because the fans will all be back at the track”, states the Italian.
🎙 #LM10: «The home GP always has a special flavour, even more this year considering that all the fans will be back on track! It will be a busy week, but I'm sure also exciting. Misano is very technical, but the Ducati can still be fast and we can make another step forward». pic.twitter.com/rDhoeAQhSn— Mooney VR46 Racing Team (@VR46RacingTeam) August 30, 2022
Equally eager for the home GP is Marini’s teammate. Bezzecchi has something special in mind for his first home appearance in the premier class.
“I’m happy: in the last few races we always scratched the top 10, we fought our way back well. I managed to have a bike for the race with which I could ride as I had imagined. I want to go that extra mile for the fans on Sunday.”
