Marina Rossi of the Marc VDS Racing Team of Belgian beer mogul Marc van der Straten has denied recent rumors Izan Guevara could potentially make a move to the Belgien team for the 2023 season.

Earlier this week, GPone.com reported Guevara spot in the Belgian team would be secured. However, according to recent comments of Marina Rossi(Marc VDS), the “name hasn’t even been mentioned to us”.

For 2023, Marc VDS will not change their rider line-up. “We will continue with our current rider duo”, states Marina Rossi in Speedweek.com.

She continues: “Tony and Sam have valid contracts for the upcoming season. The reports that Guevara is coming to us are false. How they came about, I have no explanation.”

False claims by GPone.com had stated, Sam Lowes would end his rider career to become a coach for his teammate Tony Arbolino and Izan Guevara for the 2023 season.

Often rumors like this are spreaded to help strengthen a rider’s position during contract negotiations. “I guess we were brought in by them to add to their current deal”, adds Marina Rossi.

A departure of Izan Guevara from the GASGAS Aspar seems unlikely even when moving up into Moto2. The Moto2 branch of the spanish team is growing stronger by the day, having secured two podiums this season already.
