Jack Miller On Why Pecco Bagnaia Will Be Even Stronger In 2023

For 2023, there is no getting around Pecco Bagnaia when it comes to choosing a MotoGP title favourite. Ex-teammate Jack Miller confirms the feeling.
After a very successful pre-season, which he concluded with first place at the last test in Portimao, anything other than a title defence by Francesco Bagnaia is hardly conceivable.
Having had an on-track encounter in Portimao, Bagnaia’s ex-teammate Jack Miller also confirms this and explains why, in 2023, “Pecco” will be even faster than in his world championship season.
He describes: “I followed him for a short time. I was behind him in the last corner and I saw a man who was bursting with confidence on his bike.”
Miller met his former teammate several times at the Portimao test. Bagnaia’s riding style impressed the Australian.
“He looks even stronger than last year. But he already had a run at the end of 2021 and then again last year. I think he’s a completely different person now. He’s riding really impressively.”
After a poor start to the season in 2022 and a gap to then championship leader Fabio Quartararo that had grown to 91 points, Bagnaia had made the biggest comeback in MotoGP history with an impressive series.
For 2023, the world champion is planning a more consistent start to the season. Back at the pre-season test in Sepang, Bagnaia already expressed confidence.
Ducati had learned from the mistakes of 2022 for the new season and had not modified the already strong Desmosedici too much.
With too many changes in the run-up to last season, the Italians had tripped themselves up at the beginning of 2022.
