Fantic Motor To Race In Moto2 From 2023 Season Onwards, Mooney VR46 Closes Moto2 Team
Categories: Moto2
After rumors evolved over the past weeks, it now has become reality. Italian bike manufacturer Fantic Motor will race two Moto2 bikes in the 2023 season. Meanwhile, Mooney VR46 closes its Moto2 team.
According to multiple reports from Speedweek.com and Corse di Moto, Fantic Motor, primarly known for off-road motorcycles, will fill the two spots of the Mooney VR46 team.
The Venezia based manufacturer had deployed an intermediate class team back in the 250 cc era.

The Mooney VR46 team of MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi is said to abandon their Moto2 project to concentrate on the MotoGP team. This would leave current Moto2 championship leader Celestino Vietti without a seat for 2023 – at least as long as he isn’t promoted to MotoGP.
However, as Yamaha spokesman William Favero states, it’s possible we will see a Mooney VR46 cooperation with the Yamaha Master Camp team.
Yamaha Master Camp and Mooney VR46 could fill one spot each of a joint-ventured team – probably filled with Celestino Vietti and a, so far, unknown rider.
