In a collision with Aprilia rider Maverick Vinales, Bagnaia injured his right ankle and suffered a fracture. This was only discovered during the latest examination in Italy. Bagnaia decided to have a further examination because he was still feeling pain.

A small fracture of the ankle bone was diagnosed. This small injury will not prevent Bagnaia from participating in the Italian Grand Prix, which will take place in Mugello in three weeks’ time,” Ducati is convinced.

Despite the crash at the fifth Grand Prix of the current MotoGP season, the Italian still leads the championship.

But his lead over Ducati brand colleague and compatriot Marco Bezzecchi, who won a MotoGP race for the second time at Le Mans, shrank to just one point as a result of the Le Mans retirement.
