Enea Bastianini Reveals His 2023 Title Favorite And It Is Not a Ducati Rider
Categories: MotoGP
Enea Bastianini is the rider to watch for the 2023 MotoGP season. However, the Italian himself sees another rider as title favorite.
On 23 January, Ducati will present the new bikes of the Lenovo factory team for the 2023 season.
With Enea Bastianini, Ducati is putting another highly potent Italian alongside world champion Pecco Bagnaia.
In the new season, Ducati will try to defend the titles won in 2022. Enea Bastianini talks to “La Repubblica” about his job in the factory team:
“I’ll have to adapt to the working method of the official team and manage the pressure. I feel like I was born for this: I’m only interested in being fast.”
The Italian knows what he can do and is not afraid to talk big. He has only good words for his new teammate Bagnaia but also warns that he is his first competitor.
“We know each other since we are children and for the first time in our careers, we will be on the same team.”
“I respect him, I will have a lot to learn from him but [as a teammate] he will be my first opponent this season.”

In addition to his World Champion colleague, with whom he has already battled several times on the track last season, the four-time MotoGP race winner sees one Spaniard in particular as the title favorite – Honda superstar Marc Marquez.
He is coming into a season fully fit for the first time after three difficult, injury-plagued seasons. However, what the eight-time world champion can achieve with his so far inferior Honda is questionable.
Bastianini has no doubts about the Spaniard’s quality and is looking forward to battling with Marquez.
“Just look at the numbers. Marc [Marquez] has won everything. This year, for me, he will be the title favorite.”
“I’m sure we’ll see a champion in top form again and it will be a pleasure for me to challenge him.”
