Slight change of plans in Italy: Ducati will only give Lenovo and Pramac 2023-spec bikes. Mooney VR46 and Gresini go empty-handed.
Since the start of the 2022 season, Ducati is present with eight bikes on the grid. With Gresini and Mooney VR46 the Italian manufacturer collected another two satellite teams at the beginning of the season.
The factory team and the Prima Pramac satellite team are currently riding the 2022 spec bike. Even Luca Marini was given the most modern bike of the Italian manufacturer.
For 2023, however, things will change. Only the Lenovo factory team and Prima Pramac satellite team will receive the full 2023 spec bike.
Then Gresini riders Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, as well as Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi will ride this years specification.

“It’s better for the other two customer teams to focus on proven bikes with a lot of data”, explains Ducati teammanager Davide Tardozzi to Speedweek.com. “The Ducatis are strong. Every specification is fast and can win.”
For Luca Marini the step to a then outdated Ducati is a setback. However, at least the Italian knows his bike works looking at the results the 2022 specs are achieving this season.
