Categories:   MotoGP

As MotoGP is heading for the eleventh round of the season, here are some interesting stats and numbers for the 2023 Catalan Grand Prix.

679 – Marc Marquez is set for almost two years without a win in MotoGP. Should he see the chequered flag first at Silverstone the Spaniard would end a 665-day-long winless period.

60 – If Marc Marquez somehow manages to win the main race, the Spaniard would move up into an elite club of 60+ race wins. The same applies for fastest race laps.
51 – If at least one Ducati qualifies in the top three, it will be the 51st successive race (since Valencia 2020).
37 – With Bagnaia on the podium at the British Grand Prix, Ducati is on a streak of 36 GP races in a row with at least one rider on the podium. Another will extend their record to 37.
– At the Austrian GP, Brad Binder finished second for his eighth podium in the premier class. He is now tied with Paddy Driver as the South African riders with the most podiums in the class. If Binder finishes on the podium in Catalunya, he will become the South African rider with the most premier class podiums.
7 – If a Ducati qualifies on pole, it will be the seventh successive pole for the Bologna factory, equalling their longest pole sequence from 2008 (from Catalunya to San Marino), and from Aragon 2021 to Qatar 2022.
6 – If Bagnaia finishes on the podium, it will be the first time he takes six MotoGP podiums in a row.
5 – Miguel Oliveira has had four podiums at the Catalan GP: P3 in 2012 in Moto3 – the first of his GP career –, P3 in 2017, and P2 in 2018, both in Moto2 and win in MotoGP in 2021. Another aboard his RS-GP this year would be a fifth appearance on the Catalan podium steps.
