Bastianini Wins The Factory Ducati But Loses His Biggest Advantage - His Crew Chief Alberto Giribuola
Categories: MotoGP
Alberto Giribuola, currently Enea Bastianini’s crew chief, will not accompany the Italian next year in his promotion to the official Ducati team. He will make the switch to KTM.
Giribuola will occupy a coordinating position for the technical managers at the Austrian brand, immersed as it is in a process of recruiting key elements in relation to aerodynamics and tire degradation.

Last Friday, Ducati announced that Bastianini had been chosen ahead of Jorge Martín, to accompany Pecco Bagnaia in the official team of the Bologna brand, with a view to 2023.
Just a few days later, in Misano, Giribuola informed his bosses his intention not to renew his contract, having committed to KTM.
Bastianini stated: “Alberto is a very important person for me, because he has a lot of experience from having worked with Dovizioso. But I don’t know what will happen.”
There is no answer on who Ducati will slot in as Bastianini’s crew chief. For KTM winning Alberto Giribuola’s favour could be a big step in getting their tire degradation problems under control.
The Italian really is an expert in tire degradation as both his protégés Andrea Dovizioso and Enea Bastianini have always been great in tire saving for the last part of races.
