While the possible availability of riders like Marc Marquez or Fabio Quartararo captures the attention of many, Aprilia remains nonchalant, focusing on the impressive potential they see in their existing riders.

Aleix Espargaro, fresh off his victory at the Catalan Grand Prix, and his teammate Maverick Vinales have been showcasing their prowess on the track.

However, Aprilia’s Technical Director, Romano Albesiano, believes that there’s still untapped potential within their current line-up.

He explains: “The bike is mature, and the team is, too. It’s not in our plans in the short-term to chase after riders like Marquez or Quartararo.”

“We have four fantastic riders, and we’ve seen them improve together with Aleix. He has grown in maturity and collaboration with the team, showing us how much a rider can evolve.”

Albesiano’s optimism extends to Maverick Vinales, a rider he believes can take his already impressive performance to new heights.

“If Maverick improves certain aspects like consistency, his potential is almost limitless,” the Italian added. “I expect great things from him, more than we’ve seen so far, which is already exceptional.”

While their factory team is brimming with promise, Aprilia also has faith in their satellite riders. Albesiano praised Miguel Oliveira’s talent, acknowledging the challenges he has faced due to bad luck.

“As soon as there’s an opportunity, he excels,” Albesiano noted. “He possesses intelligence and an approach that’s exceptional.”

The same goes for Oliveira teammate Raul Fernandez. Albesiano acknowledges the Spaniard’s immense talent and expressed a belief in the rider’s potential, emphasizing that Aprilia is fully committed to providing the support and nurturing environment necessary for Fernandez to shine.

“He has enormous talent and just needs support and a team that believes in him. And we are that team.”

As the MotoGP market navigates uncertainties surrounding the future of ex-world champions like Marquez and Quartararo, Aprilia Racing remains resolute in its strategy.

Albesiano concluded, “If Marquez or Quartararo become available, I wouldn’t say we particularly need them.”
